Training the Software Developers of the Future.

  • Learn it.

In Fall 2018, Jennifer was accepted into LaunchCode’s free full-stack coding bootcamp, LC101. Through that bootcamp she developed a coding vocabulary that reached beyond just language, and started her love of Agile.

  • Live it.

After completing LC101, Jennifer continued on to Liftoff, where she worked with a team of developers in the Agile method to develop her app, Beyond the Truck. The app was picked up by ITEN incubator in St. Louis, and Jennifer and her lead developer were invited to the SLU I-Corps program to being their app to the world.

  • Teach it.

In addition to attending Liftoff, Jennifer stayed on as staff for LaunchCode as a Teaching Assistant for LC101. She taught 2 sections in the Python/C# curriculum and helped support the usage and development of the new Java/Javascript curriculum. Jennifer currently functions as one of the Boeing/LaunchCode liaisons.

Be a part of shaping the future.

Jennifer’s first section of graduating LaunchCoders brought a special connection between her own journey and the journey of others. Her desire to continue connecting with her current and past students inspired her to start a number of mentorships, many of which developed into helping place her students in apprenticeship positions. While working with students, she also developed the understanding of the importance of allowing students and employees alike to be their authentic selves, and Jennifer became an active member of LaunchCode’s “Code with Pride” group supporting those in the LGBTQIA community.

It’s ok to stand out.
